Yet, I Continue
Game | 2026 | Creative, Coding, Narrative, Audio

Digital project for a module on Literature and the Digital. Based on Bunyan's The Pilgrim's Progress.
This project combines written and artistic flair to create an immersive digital game, based on a classic literary text. It follows an unnamed, indistinct figure as they navigate their purpose in a changing world.
Aim: Convey the essence of a text through a project, the medium of which must lend itself to the text.
Excerpts from feedback and method statement below
Method Statement
The graphic on the main menu screen is hand drawn then pixelized, in a swirl similar to how Bunyan’s story is often visualised, and acts as the base from which all the artworks in this piece are manipulated from, then drawn over. The overlays are also hand-drawn.
The 8-bit style voices for the characters were made through voice recordings I took of friends pronouncing vowels, which were then clipped and assembled.... The chimes that sound when choices are made come from Dove (Doll version, instrumental slowed and reverb), which I manipulated to sound either higher and airy, or lower pitched.

It focuses on the mental state of the character and uncertainty. It is coded on Visual Studio Code. I am relatively amateur at coding but I believed this format is optimal for the story chosen.
Feedback
The prose is affecting and the use of sound gives the whole piece a sense of ethereality which matches with the otherworldly decisions being made quite well.

Your drawings are really distinctive and oddly moving- reminiscent of the artwork for Radiohead's 1997 album OK Computer.
